Missions

God is pouring out His love and power, changing lives at Redeemer; we reach out to share that love with people around the world. Where we may not be physically present, Redeemer supports and encourages missionaries called to minister to the hurting and lost, with the good news of Jesus Christ.

As a church we seek to support these missionaries by prayer, financial giving, and encouragement through letters, e-mails and phone calls. Newsletters, displays, "Mission Minutes" during the Sunday morning service and visits by our missionaries help build our relationship with them and keep Redeemer informed about how God is working around the world.

Currently we support seven missionary families serving in six foreign countries: Japan, Ecuador, Congo, Thailand, India and France. We also support varied domestic ministries such as Teen Challenge, Christian Service Brigade, Christian Action Council, a ministry to international students and a prison ministry. While some of our missionaries are associated with organizations such as Navigators or Youth with a Mission, the largest percentage are those who serve through Covenant World Missions, of our own denomination.

Throughout the year, we participate in various activities such as the Rescue Mission's annual Toy Drive, the donation of Christmas presents to the men in Syracuse's Teen Challenge Program, and Operation Christmas Child. Each summer during Vacation Bible School our children bring in penny banks earmarked for donation to some type of mission or ministry. In the fall of each year we take part in Covenant World Relief, raising money to meet the needs of various people groups around the world.

It is exciting to be informed and involved- God is working at Redeeemer and around the world.
